Pregnancy Treatments

Contented Pregnancy

There is nothing quite as profound as the journey towards motherhood. Healthy body and mind are the key factors to a healthy pregnancy. Focus on nourishing your body. Radiant health and wellbeing reflect an inner state of harmony and balance. Everyone wishes that they could enjoy optimum health and vitality. A loving family, a healthy diet, some activity, meditation and yes! – regular reflexology treatments will help ensure that you will achieve that.

What to expect during the treatment

The session is a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person. It treats the whole body, taking into account both physical and physiological factors that may affect your wellbeing.

The treatment will take up to 1.45-2h. And it will include consultation, guided meditation, either feet, face or hands reflexology, dietary and life style advice. You will leave the treatment room feeling positivity and calmness which are more important during pregnancy than just an even keel. It will help you cope with the demands on your body and mind, and benefits your baby in a variety of important ways.

It is not recommended to have reflexology treatment during first 12 weeks of pregnancy and final 4 weeks. Women are more susceptible to acupressure treatments during that time, it may stimulate uterine contractions. Reflexology should not be used in place of conventional medical care. Always consult a GP or other health professional for medical attention and advice.

Pregnancy Massage

In pregnancy women very often experience tension, fatigue and anxiety. It may be an emotional time for the woman, as the pregnancy puts additional strain and responsibility on the mother.

As the pregnancy develops, there are a variety of physical symptoms that may show up. Some of them are: headaches, back pain, swollen hands and feet, neck and shoulder pain and many other. A pregnancy massage may definitely help to ease these symptoms.

Pregnancy is the perfect time to consider pampering in a massage – here’s why: A pregnancy massage can make the waiting time to motherhood more enjoyable as it helps you feel nurtured and supported, while at the same time calming the pains and aches related to growing baby.

What to expect during the treatment

You will have a short consultation where I will ask you for your medical and pregnancy history and whether there are any problem areas you’d like to target during the session. Then I will describe what will happen during the treatment.

There are two options of pregnancy massage to choose from:

30 Minutes Shoulders Massage
The shoulder massage emphases on reliving stress and muscular tension in the upper and lower back. You will be seated on a Swiss ball and leant on the massage table supported by pillows to feel as comfortable as possible. I may use essential oils to support the treatment and promote deeper relaxation.

30 mins – £35

60 or 90 Minutes Full Body Massage
The Full body massage is amazing an emotional stress reliver. You will be asked to lie on a massage couch where you may be carefully positioned and supported with pillows. I will ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible whist on the bed. I might use essential oils to deliver deeper relaxation.

90 mins – £85

* If your pregnancy is considered high risk, it’s not advisable to have a pregnancy massage. I don’t give massages in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. There is a risk of spontaneous miscarriage, in first trimester in one in eight pregnancies.
